Flytex was my first band.
Flytex was formed sometime in 1975 and consisted of:
Mario Parez on guitar & vocals
Danny Myers on guitar
Joe Tadlock on drums
Bill Schneider on bass
Left to right are Bill, Joe, Mario & Danny
This was our first gig, played in a VFW hall close by Nellis Air Force Base in 1976.
I don't remember now what the special occasion was, but it is special to me now as my first time playing for a real audience. And getting paid free beer too!
The basses I used at the time were
(above) Hagstrom 8 string bass
(below) Ibanez double neck bass & guitar
I quickly decided I didn't want to play guitar and sold the doubleneck. It was quite heavy anyway.
